“Before I began my coaching sessions with Raina I had been at a standstill in my health and wellness journey. I had been sick constantly for the last 2 months before working with her with everything from Strep throat to a viral illness, to catching Covid. Unfortunately, during the time that I was sick I put my health and wellness on the back burner. I wasn’t exercising, I wasn’t eating nutritiously, and I was practicing self-care. I was really afraid of reverting back to my old habits I had worked hard to get away from a few years ago.
Raina really helped guide and support me on getting back on track with my health especially my mindset. She helped me build my goals and set realistic intentions for myself. I committed to going on a health and wellness retreat that was much needed and she helped me prepare by supporting and encouraging me with my daily yoga practices and opening my mindset to allow me to enjoy my retreat when I was worried about leaving my family. I loved her deep questions, visualization activities, and her checking in on my values.
I felt very comfortable opening up and being vulnerable with Raina. She helped me talk through life and has encouraged me to follow my intuition and not to feel obligated or let others take advantage of me and what I have to offer. "I would like to take some time to talk about my experience with Raina Murray as my life coach. I would like to explain my reasoning for joining her on the journey as well as what I learned and what I gained from this experience.
Before I started my sessions with Raina, I was living life just going through the motions. Stuck in a career that I love but isn’t my passion. I never knew that seeking out a life coach was an option and I certainly never understood what a life coach would have to offer me. I never knew that having a life coach would bring me so much joy and understanding. I simply used to think that life was fleeting, and we all just had to stumble our way through it, until one day it would just make sense.
The day it all made sense for me was my first session with Raina. She was able to pinpoint my true passions in life from day one. She made me feel comfortable, confident, and safe. Having Raina as my life coach was like having a coach, a therapist, cheerleader, and friend all wrapped up into one person. “In the five weeks of receiving wellness coaching from Raina, I have gained better insight for self-care, my wellness and health in my life. The coaching I received from Raina helped me to align my life with what is important to me. She helped me break down what seemed to be overwhelming challenges and offered gentle support and guidance. Before I started working with Raina my life was very messy. My professional life was going ok, but I was unable to breakout of just being a bedside nurse. (Which I do quite well.) I was struggling to show my worth to my managers and directors on my unit. Raina helped to focus my attention on my strengths and gave me confidence to apply for positions as they became available, and I was qualified to apply for. Though I was unable to get the job I applied for it did help open up doors to becoming a team leader on the unit which will in turn help better my chances of taking on other roles. I was also contemplating going back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner when we first started. I did enroll and have started classes.
My personal life is also a roller coaster ride which we discussed ways to improve it and also stressors and triggers and how it would impact going back to school. She was able to teach me breathing techniques to get through my stress and refocus myself to the important things in my life.
My overall experience working with Raina was great. It allowed me to create accountability in my life and have an adult to talk to on a regular basis. Being able to take the time out of my week for coaching and focusing on my needs was the most beneficial aspect of my time with her. As nurses we tend to put self-care on the back burner, so it was nice to have the reassurance it was ok to focus on my needs as well.
I know I can balance my needs and caring for others through Raina’s coaching. I was able to find a little piece of myself again and pick up hobbies again. I started reading books more and crocheting again. Both great stress relievers and more beneficial than just watching TV. It enables me to be productive even when not moving. It has enhanced my mental growth process and encouraged me to find new things I can try and see if I enjoy them. She encouraged me to go have a date with myself which I did and thoroughly enjoyed my time alone.
I would recommend coaching with Raina to anyone who is confused about who they are professionally or personally. She has tools to help you re-center yourself and reflect on who you truly are deep down. She provides techniques to help with stress relief and anxiety issues. She is definitely a coach and a cheer leader to get you to your best self.” ~AR
